Albania aims to join the European Union. That’s going to involve many changes over the coming years. You can play a key role in implementing the relevant Directives and strategies for the water sector:

  • Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive (UWWTD)
  • Drinking Water Directive (DWD)
  • National Sludge Management Strategy

The project ‘Water Negotiations and Investment Planning Support’ has put together a collection of training courses, which cover every aspect of planning and management relevant to the implementation of these Directives and the Strategy.

Main Topic 1 – Tools and Techniques

In this part of the syllabus we cover everything that you need to know in order to plan realistically. We offer therefore five courses:

1.1 – Foundation module – tools and techniques
1.2 – The statistics of compliance assessment
1.3 – The law and its implications
1.4 – Water utility finance and accounting
1.5 – oncluding seminar – tools and techniques

Main Topic 2 – Strategic planning

In this part of the syllabus we cover everything that you need to know in order to design implementation plans and manage their execution. The necessary knowledge and skills are offered in the following five training courses:

2.1 – A general introduction to policy implementation planning
2.2 – Effective teamwork
2.3 – Essential elements of implementation planning
2.4 – Change management
2.5 – Managing implementation risk
2.6 – Financial management planning for implementation
2.7 – Concluding seminar – strategic planning

Main Topic 3 – Institutional embedding
